What Parents Are Saying...

"I signed my child up for Spring break writing camp. I realized the school wasn't  doing too much in writing that this would be a really good opportunity to supplement.  During the week, he had an amazing time working with all the teachers who helped him write and publish 3 books! This was super exciting for him!...

"My guys loved the camp. They can't stop talking about it."

"My girls still talk about the camp. They absolutely loved it. It's unique and we will definitely be back next summer! It's going to be a tradition. thanks!"

Children at this age have an unlimited supply of imagination and ideas. They just may not know how to express what they’re thinking in writing. During the camp, our staff will work with students on the following areas:

Creative Thinking
Writing Exercises
Self-Expression Activities
Simple Story Structure

Our goal is to extend their skills on what they are learning at school, such as expanding on sentences with descriptions. We also explain that there are no ‘rules’ when it comes to creative writing. We explore creative thinking via writing prompts. The writing will be complemented with time at our character and publishing studios, where kids can create characters and illustrations to help bring their story to life. Whether they currently enjoy writing or not, they will enjoy creative writing at the end of our program. Our goal is to show young children just how much fun creative thinking can be if they let their imaginations soar.

Child must be in kindergarten or above.

Child can write basic sentences by sounding out words.

Our camp curriculum for ages 7-10 explores fiction writing in depth and covers the following topics as they create their books during the week:

•Creative Writing
•Plot Development
•Character Development
•Literary Terms and Devices* (more in-depth for full-day students)
•Dialogue and Opening Sentences*
•Self-Expression Activities
•Independent and Group Activities
•Creative Writing Scorecard

*More in-depth coverage for full-day students.

Cancellation policy: Any cancellations made two weeks before the camp start date will incur a fee of $75. After the two weeks mark the registration fee is non-refundable.
